My Favorites

I am very picky about my pie bakeware! They must serve two important functions: cooking a perfect, golden and flaky crust and making a beautiful presentation.

Tyler Florence for Mikasa 10.25-in. Chef's White Collection Baroque Pie Dish

Tyler Florence makes a really fun Baroque Pie Dish and because I love uniquely shaped pie dishes, this one sits at the top of my list of favorites.
It is a little over 10 inches, so it fits any normal pie recipe perfectly and presents very charmingly at parties. The interesting design also makes it multi-purpose. It does not scream "pie plate".

This pie plate is reasonably priced at $29.95 at cooking.com, makes a great gift or addition to your entertaining bakeware!

NordicWare Naturals Hi-Dome 10-Inch Pie Pan with Lid: Amazon.com reviewers gave this pie plate 5 stars and I would have to agree!

Many times have I attempted to travel with a pie and find it impossible. The lid is the most important aspect of this pie plate. It works great for storage, too! As we both know, saran wrap can create a soggy environment for your pie.

Frankoma 10-in. Color Works Fluted Pie Dish, Distressed RedLike before, I LOVE unique pie dishes. Anything fun and different is always a plus for your pie!

This Distressed RedMetallic colored pie plates say so much! They are perfect for girls' nights, kid's parties and work gatherings. Nothing says "confident chef" like an eye-catching piece of bakeware.

I have often used my pie plates, especially the fun ones, as bowls for dip or chips and for holding candy at parties.

Chantal 2.25-qt. Apple Deep Dish Pie Pan, Glossy Red

An apple-shaped pie plate for your Apple Pie! I am in heaven and this is adorable!

My mind goes crazy with this one. I imagine that instead of small cuts as vents, I could use the apple pie top cutter to add some more apple flare to this pie!

Also, I think if you added another fruit to the apples, like cranberries or raisins, it would be a wonderful twist to an expected traditional pie.

Perfect for apple cobblers, too, I imagine.

Chantal 9-in. Talavera Collection Pie Dish, Glossy Cobalt Blue

This Glossy Cobalt Bluepie plate is super sassy and an bold statement on any table.

Especially, adding a delicious blueberry pie recipe with ice cream served on the side. What a beautiful display that would be.

This particular pie plate is more shallow than the ones before, which is wonderful if you love to make elaborate fluted edges. That task can be a challenge for the deeper plates.

Emile Henry 5.5-in. Provencale Individual Pie Dish, Citron

Hello Sunshine! This happy, little Emile Henry 5.5-in pie plate in bright Citron

puts me in such high spirits! I have this exact mini-pie plate in black- and often look wistfully at the bright yellow.

Emile makes these in several crayon colors and their size is beyond adorable. I love this pie plate, and I use it for the perfect two serving chicken pot pie. You have two options with this little guy- you can use a half of any pie recipe or just buy two and freeze the leftovers for later! Any time I can save here or there is a good thing!

Mikasa 2-pc. Countryside Harvest Pie Dish

I absolutely gasped the first time I saw this Harvest-Themed Pie Dish by Mikasa. This 2 piece pie dish is hand painted and made of glazed ceramic. The pumpkin-shaped lid (which is beyond perfect for traveling holiday party pies) has a handle made of a leaf.

Mikasa also has a matching set of Italian Countryside-themed dishes, including gourds, pumpkins and leaves. It is very harvest indeed!

Pyrex 9.5-in. Pie Dish Every kitchen needs a simple classic pie dish. Pyrex makes a perfect, wallet-friendly 9.5-in. Pie Dish that I love, love! It is my constant and favorite stand by. I always prefer a simple, glass pie plate because I find that pies come out perfectly. The glass allows the pie to be cooked all the way through and heats evenly. Also, when your crust is beautifully golden- it needs to show!
