Budget Gifts: Spend little, impress a lot!
Housewarming Gifts | Unique Birthday Gifts |Unique Christmas Gifts | Budget GiftsBeing a recent college graduate, I create little fun goals for myself. Try to spend the least, but make the biggest gift impact! I tell you, once you start this game- it becomes a little addicting! Making a Candy Pie: For a friend's recent housewarming party, I was not sure what to get. As I mentioned before, housewarmings are really difficult. You are unsure of their décor and the stuff they already have. Searching around, I found a cake display that doubles as a punch bowl. How interesting. I thought- a cake display is always something nice to have- but I wanted to make an impact! Ingredients: - Cake display ($10)
- Individual size mini chocolate bars (i.e. Twix) 3 packs of 10, ($1 a piece)
- one bag of m&ms ($2)
Supplies: Hot Glue Gun or clear shipping tape - Open the 3 packs of candy cars.
- Glue/tape each of the candy bars together in a line.
- Have the line meet to make a circle. This will be the crust of your candy pie.
- Lightly tape (do not glue) the circle to the cake display.
- Pour the M&Ms into the circle of candy. This is your filling. Voila. A pie you did not have to dirty up your kitchen for.
It was the hit of the party! For $13, I gave a gift that the hostess still thanks me for!
